Swat spreads across the green hills of northern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where the Swat River comes down out of the Hindu Kush through Kalam and Bahrain and on past Mingora toward the plains. Within the valley you get pine forest, the ski slopes at Malam Jabba, high alpine lakes like Mahodand, and centuries of Buddhist heritage, all a few hours from Islamabad once you're on the Swat Motorway. Every Travel.pk trip is a custom package built around your dates, hotels, and group size, so tell us your plan and we'll send a quote.
Typical length: 4–7 days, customisable
A typical flow — every Swat Valley package is tailored to your dates, budget and group, so treat this as a starting point.
Set off from Islamabad on the Swat Motorway, following the river as the plains give way to hills. Reach Mingora by afternoon, check in, and walk the bazaar in the evening.
Drive up to Malam Jabba, ride the chairlift over the pine slopes, and try the ski runs or the zipline in season. Head back down and continue north toward the upper valley.
Follow the Swat River road through Bahrain up to Kalam, with pine forest and cold streams the whole way. Settle in and spend the evening by the water.
Take a jeep from Kalam through the Ushu forest up the rough track to Mahodand Lake, ringed by peaks. Time for boating and photos before the ride back to Kalam.
Return toward Mingora and stop at the Swat Museum's Gandhara collection and the Butkara stupa, two of the clearest traces of the valley's Buddhist past.
Drive back down the valley and onto the Swat Motorway for the run home to Islamabad.
March to October brings green valleys, spring blossom, and open roads up to Kalam and Mahodand Lake. December to February is the time for snow and skiing at Malam Jabba, though the road above Kalam can close in deep winter.
Tell us your dates, budget and group size and we'll build a Swat Valley package around them — flights, hotels, transfers and a local plan. No fixed, one-size-fits-all price.
There's no fixed price. A Swat package is built around your travel dates, the hotels you pick, your group size, and how far up the valley you want to go. Tell us your plan and we'll send a custom quote.
Spring through autumn, roughly March to October, gives you green valleys, blossom, and open roads to Kalam and Mahodand Lake. Come December to February if you want snow and skiing at Malam Jabba.
A standard package covers return transfers from Islamabad, hotels through the trip, daily breakfast with some dinners, a driver and coordinator, jeep hire for Mahodand Lake, and entry tickets where noted. We adjust everything to your budget.
Swat is a domestic trip, so Pakistani travellers won't need a visa. We can add flights to Islamabad from your city and handle the road transfer onward, and if you're joining from abroad we'll help with the Pakistan visa as well.
