The Kaghan Valley runs north from Balakot along the Kunhar River, climbing past Shogran and Naran up to Babusar Top at over 4,000 metres. It is a summer road trip strung between alpine lakes — Saif ul Malook, Lulusar and the meadows above Shogran — with jeeps handling the last rough stretches. Travel.pk plans each Naran & Kaghan trip around your dates, group size and how far up the valley you want to push, so you get a route and a quote made for your party rather than a fixed shelf price.
Typical length: 5–8 days, customisable
A typical flow — every Naran & Kaghan Valley package is tailored to your dates, budget and group, so treat this as a starting point.
Drive north out of Islamabad past Mansehra and Balakot as the Kunhar River tightens the valley around you. You pass through Kaghan town and reach Naran by evening, settling in near the bazaar.
Take a local jeep from Naran up the rough track to Saif ul Malook, with Malika Parbat rising over the far shore. There is time to walk the shoreline or take a short rowboat ride before heading back down.
Head up the valley past Lulusar Lake to Babusar Top, the pass linking Kaghan to the Chilas and Gilgit-Baltistan side. On a clear day the views open right across the range before you return to Naran for the night.
Drop back down toward Kiwai and switch to a 4x4 for the climb to Shogran, then on to the Siri Paye meadows for open pasture and peak views. Return to Naran or overnight in Shogran, depending on your plan.
A steady drive back down the Kaghan Valley to Islamabad, with photo stops along the Kunhar River and time for a late lunch in Balakot on the way.
Late May to September, once the snow clears the Babusar Top road — usually by late June or early July. July and August are the greenest but busiest; June and September are cooler and quieter. The valley is closed by snow in winter.
Tell us your dates, budget and group size and we'll build a Naran & Kaghan Valley package around them — flights, hotels, transfers and a local plan. No fixed, one-size-fits-all price.
There is no fixed price. A Naran & Kaghan trip is planned around your travel dates, the standard of hotels you want, your group size and how far up the valley you go. Share those details and we will send you a custom quote.
It is a summer destination, roughly late May to September. The Babusar Top road opens once the snow clears, usually by late June or early July. July and August are lush but crowded, while June and September are cooler and quieter. The valley is snowed in through winter.
A typical package covers private transport from Islamabad, jeep hire for the high tracks, hotel stays in Naran, daily breakfast with some dinners, a driver-guide, and lake or park entry tickets. The exact inclusions are set when we build your quote around your plan.
Naran has no airport, so the trip runs by road from Islamabad. If you are coming from another city or from abroad, we can book your flights into Islamabad and arrange airport transfers. No visa is needed for domestic travel, and for international guests we can help with the Pakistan visa as well.
